may 2016 recap

What's New With You

May had some really high highs and super low lows.

Of course, May started with my awesome honeymoon

Then my oldest niece graduated from high school.
I feel like a second mom to her and I cried at the ceremony.
I am beyond proud of her!

The low part of the month was ANOTHER wreck
If you remember back in February someone pulled out in front of me and totaled my brand new car.
Well, on the way to my niece's graduation, someone rear-ended me
and totaled our Explorer.
This is two cars totaled in three months and neither were my fault.
I told D that I am getting gun-shy driving.
It's like I have a big target on me somewhere!
And it does not help that I commute to work 45 minutes, each way.

We spent Memorial day by the pool with family.
We have two brand new babies in the family and it is so much fun getting baby snuggles.
However, it is not so fun getting asked REPEATEDLY when you are going to have one.
I wanted to scream,
"We have only been married one month!!!"

So, from the honeymoon to another totaled vehicle.
It sure has been a crazy month!

the wedding & jamaica

Hey y'all!
I got married!

The wedding was gorgeous and absolutely perfect.
I will post the professional pictures when I get them.
All of the ones in today's post will be cell phone pics.

As great as the wedding was I am so glad it is over and I never have to do that again.
This introvert was on people overload by the end of the weekend.

The one thing people keep telling us is that they have never been to a sweeter ceremony or seen a wedding that "just fit" the couple so well.
So, I call that a success.

D and I wrote the entire ceremony,
including our vows.
We wanted to make the entire wedding as personal as possible.

D and I went to Jamaica on our honeymoon.
We stayed at the Couples Tower Isle resort in Ocho Rios.
Let me tell you, all-inclusive is the way to go.

The resort was really great.
It had something for everyone.
You could sit on the beach or by the pool for an entire week.
Or you could stay busy the entire time with activities.

We mostly sat on the beach with a few activities thrown in.
Exactly what we need after the craziness of the wedding.

march update

What's New With You

March has been a fairly busy month.
The wedding countdown is in high gear.
23 more days!

I have already posted about my awesome bridal shower at the beginning of the month.

D had a bachelor's weekend in Charleston, SC.
We both love that city.

While D was on his bachelor's weekend,
my little sis, M, and I went wedding shopping and had a fun girl's day.

I baked a peach pie for Pi day!
And made homemade whipped cream.

I spent a week in Orlando, FL for a work conference.
I was a presenter at the conference and was nervous as hell.
But the presentation went really well.

While I was in Orlando, a few of my coworkers put together a mini bachelorette party for me.
I love the ladies I work with.

My coworkers also gave D and I a wedding shower.

One of my sweet nieces had her first birthday.
So, D and I traveled to my hometown for her party.

I had a really fun Easter.
D's mom wanted all of us adults to hunt for eggs this year.
It was flooding but we all had a lot of fun.

This past weekend I dipped my toe back into the wedding planning pool.
D's best man got married last weekend
and I was their day-of coordinator.
I forgot how much I love wedding planning and coordinating.
D and I are discussing me starting my event planning business back up.
I told him I want to start slow and only coordinate for a while.
Saturday was fun but exhausting.
At the end of the night I had taken more than 24,000 steps.

weekend recap: bridal shower

My bridal shower was this weekend and it was fabulous!

My best friend & maid of honor hosted and organized the shower.
The Bestie!

She went above and beyond anything I expected.

Her decor was super cute and fancy.

She had the shower at a local inn and they catered.

I loved celebrating with my friends and family
and getting to introduce D to a few people that he had not met yet.

My Bridesmaids!

Future Mother-in-Law & Sister-in-Law

Hope y'all had a great weekend as well!
