just call me martha stewart

I love to decorate my house for holidays...in theory!
When it comes to my personal life I am the
Queen of procrastination.
For example, last night I just switched out my holiday decorations.

Yes, I went from July 4th straight to Halloween.
That's how I roll! :)
I have good intentions to change these frames for
every season/holiday.
Somehow, August & September were forgotten this year.

ultimate timewasters

I saw the following graphic on this blog post this morning
and it made me think about all of the ways I waste time.

Now that the semester is in full swing
I find that I waste A LOT of time not doing my school work.

Every semester I vow to not procrastinate.
I did not make that vow this semester.
My reasoning is that
I have made it to my last semester in grad school successfully
and procrastination has not hurt me one bit!

However, it is funny that so far I have finished all of my assignments early
in the one semester of my entire college career
that I have not started out worrying about procrastination.
We'll see how long that lasts!

Here are a few ways that I waste time:

playing bejeweld blitz on facebook

blogging
not necessarly writing blogs
because I am a horribly inconsistent blogger
but I love reading blogs & finding new blogs to read

online window shopping

checking facebook & twitter
reading email

reading a fun book
instead of my textbooks

browsing amazon

This list could probably go on forever,
{I find new ways to procrastinate everyday}
but I will stop here!

me...a procrastinator?? noooo!

I believe this is my first double post ever!
I saw this Calvin & Hobbes cartoon and it just sums my day up perfectly.
{I firmly believe there is a C&H cartoon for every situation}
Does anybody happen to have a completed paper on managing in the middle east handy?
If so, you are my new best friend ;)
Apparently I have conditioned my brain to only work at the last minute. I have tried for the last week to get this paper finished, but I would draw a blank whenever I sat down to write. It finally started to flow some at about 1 this morning. I am still not finished but it is coming along nicely. I may not get any sleep tonight, but it WILL be finished by 8 am Friday. Mainly because that is when it is due:)

Last day to enter my GIVEAWAY!
You want to win something fun...right?!

study break

My two besties and I decided to go back to the pottery place for another "study break" last Saturday. We were joined by two more of our really good friends and made a girls' day out of it!

Instead of painting pottery we worked with glass. This was a first for all of us. And we had a blast. Working with the glass was super easy and they had a ton of colors and different techniques we could us with the glass. Of course, clumsy ole me I was the only one to get an injury. I cut my finger on a piece of the glass about 15 minutes after we started. It was not a bad cut but it would not stop bleeding. But I put a band aid on it and forgot about it.

My OCDness always comes out when I do any kind of crafty project. And my very best friends love to make fun of me!! {you should be able to pick my piece out of all of theirs...i cannot help i like symmetry}  We are very quickly becoming regulars at this place! It is such a great way to just clear our minds and take a much needed break from the week.

Here are a few pics of our works in progress! For a little explanation, all we had to do was layer our glass and then they will fuse it for us. So, the finished product will look very different from the pics here.

A* decided to make a picture frame.
If you could not tell from last week's creation her favorite color is green!

M* also decided to make a picture frame.

J*s 80s inspired piece.
This will become a bowl.

MB*s checkerboard!
This will be slunked into what they call a votive.

This is my piece.
{Can you tell I am a little bit OCD?! You should see me working on my scrapbook.}
It will also be slunked into a votive.

fun times of procrastination

Saturday I had about 1,512 assignments to work on. But I had a rare Saturday off from work, so the besties and I painted pottery. We have a great little place here in town where you can paint pottery and make wonderful glass creations. We are going back this weekend to do some glass work. It is a great way to relax and forget about school & work for a couple of hours. Here are a few pics of the works in progress. They have to glaze & fire them which takes about 7-10 days. I will post a picture of the finished pieces when we pick them up.

our messy table!

M* decided to paint a travel mug

A* painted a trinket box

and I painted a square fluted bowl
I think I may use it as a fruit bowl or something.
