shopping is not fun

source
Well, shopping when I absolutely have
to buy something is not fun.

The mission this past weekend was shirts.
Because I have lost a good bit of weight,
all of my shirts have
started to look like potato sacks on me.

I have bought a few pair of pants
here and there,
but I have been able to make my
shirts work for the most part
until recently.

I hate shopping when I have to buy something.
Typically, I can NEVER find
what I am looking for.
Luckily, this shopping trip
was not too bad.

My friends and I went to Savannah
Saturday afternoon.
Our first stop was Target and
I just found 1 tshirt.
Then we stopped at Khol's
and I did not find anything at all.
So, that was a little discouraging.

Then we decided to go to the mall.
I found two shirts at Old Navy.
And then hit the jackpot at
New York & Company.

They were having a great sale
and I found a shirt that I just loved
and it was appropriate for work.
My solution to the shirt problem was solved.
I bought the shirt in every color they had.
Yes, I bought 9 shirts that are exactly the same!

Have you had any shopping dilemma's lately?

dress shopping

The wedding is just over 2 weeks away and I still have to find dresses to wear to the rehearsal dinner and to the wedding.
Why is it that you can never find anything when you actually have to buy something?
I will find millions of great things if I am just "window" shopping.
I am hoping to find something similar to these dresses.

I found both of these online,
but I hate buying dresses without trying them on first.
And I have kind of waited until the last minute,
so if I do not like them I will not have time to send them back.

Which style do y'all like best?
Any other suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

i ♥ surprises!

Okay, y'all,
when did Tupperware get so cute?!

I received these goodies in the mail this week!
I seriously did not even remember winning these.
So I was super surprised when I was contacted
by Jessica for my info.
I won this great package during
JG's awesome blogaversary giveaways.

I was flipping through the Tupperware catalog
and there are several items in there that I would
love to have.
I remember Tupperware being serviceable & reliable.
But they have some super cute stuff now!

Thanks so much JG & Jessica!
Y'all are pretty awesome. :)

the loot

Finally, the last road trip post . . . promise!
I actually did not buy a lot of souvenirs on this trip.
I did get postcards and magnets from
Texas & Louisiana.
I also got this super cute mask from one of the shops
in the French Quarter.

On our way back to Georgia
we stopped at an outlet mall in Mississippi.
This is where I got into trouble;)

I bought two new pairs of Chucks!!

The mall had a Carter's outlet.
I called my sister to double check the dude's size
and she just laughed when I told her where I was at.
Her advice: try not to go overboard.
I think I showed considerable restraint;)
However, Mr. Nash did score some goodies!
 Too true :-)

 a baseball & fish on his butt . . . just adorable!

I hope y'all enjoyed my road trip recaps.
Maybe it was not too boring for you.
Overall, we had an absolute blast!
And are already planning our next road trip.
We are leaning towards NYC or somewhere in the NW.

extreme couponing

{via}

One of my friends talked me into going to a couponing workshop at the university last night.
I am glad she did because I actually learned a lot of ways to save money!
And who doesn't want to save money?!
Here is my bullet point version of the session.
  • Learn sales cycles and stock up
  • The bigger the city the better the coupons in the Sunday paper
  • Focus on BOGO coupons/sales
  • Use highest value coupons first
  • Have an organization system
  • Many grocery stores will double your coupons
  • You can use both a manufacturer's coupon & store coupon together
  • Great sites for printable coupons:
  • smartsource.com; redplum.com; coupons.com
This list does not even scratch the surface.
I am still processing the majority of the info.
There was a TON of information packed into 2.5 hours.
I swear some of it sounded like Jedi mind tricks!
It is actually possible to walk into a store, purchase what you need, and not actually pay anything AT ALL!
Amazing!

Everybody should definitely check out the Southern Savers website here.

On another note, Holly over at A Few of My Favorite Things is hosting a fabulous giveaway!
So, make sure you go check it out.

Also, thanks so much for all of the kind comments yesterday!
The day ended much better than it started :)

i ♥ winter!

Cold weather is my friend!
That I do not get to see very often here in South Georgia.
But I have a small obsession love of coats.
I have way too many already,
but at least once a week I find myself browsing the world wide web for a new coat.
However, I do have a small measure of self control so I am mainly window shopping.
Here are some of my favs right now:

Lands' End pea coat
I seriously have 7 pea coats already!

I love this houndstooth print!

I think the empire waist on this coat would be super cute & flattering.

I love the style of this motorcycle jacket but it is way out of my price range.

What are your favorite things to "window shop" for?

shop 'til we dropped

The girls and I went shopping in Tallahassee today.
And I am now exhausted!

However, we had a ton of fun
and the girls got some fun new outfits!

Here is the loot:

Both of the girls got:
2 pairs of jeans
1 button up shirt
1 sweater
3 t shirts
& 1 pair of shoes

We literally spent all day in Tally.
I now know the meaning of shop 'til you drop.
Poor Whit fell fast asleep on the way home.

Tomorrow I am getting professional pictures taken of all 3 kiddos.
I am so excited to see how they turn out!

P.S.  Isn't he the cutest thing ever?!
And look at those baby Converse!!
