whistle while you work

This weekend was exhausting. I am finally completely moved in to my new apartment...YAY! Just to clarify; I HATE moving. If I had the finances I would just buy everything new, clothes and all. But I was so proud of myself; I had everything moved in AND unpacked in one day. Granted it was a really long Saturday but I slept very well knowing everything was done. I could not have done it without all of my friends' help. They worked tirelessly getting everything into the apartment. I received a gift certificate for an hour massage for my birthday and I am definitely taking advantage of that this week. Classes started today and I am relieved that I can focus on them and not worry about unpacking when I get home from work tonight!

I have been living in Chicago for the past year and tomorrow I will be moving back to Georgia. I moved to Chicago for school but I decided to change my major and my alma mater just happened to have the best program for my new major. I love living in Chicago and have made some great friends. At the same time I miss my friends in Georgia every day. So my emotions are all over the place about this move. I love to travel and to experience different places. In some ways I feel like moving back to Georgia is a step backward, not forward. But the program is one of the best in the nation and I will be getting my old job back and I will be living with my three best friends (two of them I have known since I was 10.) I am so excited about being close to my family again but I am already grieving the loss of my life in Chicago. I am thankful that I realized I was not going in the direction God has for me, before I completed three grueling years school. And there are a lot of options for me to travel; with study abroad and internships during the summer. This program is only two years so I did not add any years to my schooling. I am praying for peace and strength to start a new chapter in my life. God is always faithful and everything works for His glory!

busy busy busy

My week is super busy. I am moving from Chicago back to Georgia at the end of this month. So, two of my friends (A & M) are coming to Chicago this week to help me pack ~they are the greatest. We did not want two cars in Chicago, which is a really good idea, why have two cars when one would be SO much easier, right?!? Well, in order to accomplish this, I have to drive to Georgia (a 15 hr drive) to pick them up on Tuesday; then I have to drive back to Chicago Thursday. They were going to rent a car, but it is cheaper for me to just drive down there. And then the packing and sightseeing adventure ensues. I have a feeling I am going to be exhausted, but it sounds like so much fun! A helped me move to Chicago but M has never been here before. I am going to enjoy showing off “my” city. It is also going to be fun introducing my Georgia friends to my Chicago friends, I am sure they will get along great. We will probably want to sleep for a week when we finally get moved, but we are going to have the time of our lives!
