randomness

I FINALLY finshed summer semester on Friday!
Of course, that meant an all-nighter to finish my research paper.
But it was totally worth it.
I made A's in both of my classes this summer!!

Friday afternoon I drove to the farm to visit the family.
My sis is 5 months along now!
I had a little "talkin' to" with the peanut and told him that under no circumstances was he allowed to make his grand entrance until I could be there for it;)
You think that will work at all!
I just noticed that I put "he" all through that sentence.
We actually do not know the gender yet because apparently the stubborn gene is very strong.
She has another ultrasound on Aug 5th so hopefully we will know then!

On Saturday, I had a girls' day out with my sis and my two beautiful nieces!
We had lunch, did some shopping, got our nails done, and ate ice cream.
We had a fab time!!
After we got home, I let the girls ride the horse for the first time.
I thought my sister would be a little nervous about them riding but she had complete trust in me.

It was a little funny.
My oldest niece, W, is horse CRAZY.
I mean she has every horse book ever written, horse pendants, horse posters on her walls...you get my drift.
And the younger one, C, likes horses okay but she is more of a doll kind of girl.
Well, C had a blast; I had to basically pry her off of the horse!
But W was really nervous.
I was SUPER proud of her though.
Even though she was nervous she still got on and rode him.
After a little while she was a little more comfortable!
I am actually thinking about getting them both riding lessons for Christmas.
I am the only one in my family that rides and I do not get down there enough to teach them.

I left the farm Sunday afternoon and decided to stop and get a hotel for the night.
I am one of those people that need alone time to properly function as a human being.
After this crazy semester and being cooped up in a house with 3 other women,
I needed a break.
The roomies were not expecting me home until Monday.
I did not tell anyone where I stopped and I put my cell on vibrate and just enjoyed the silence of being all by myself for a blissful 24 hours!!

We are moving into our new house this weekend!!!
I am ready to be out of this apartment complex.
I am not looking forward to packing and especially not looking forward to moving in South GA heat.
So, this week will consist of work and packing. Fun times;)
But I cannot wait to get into the new place!

go braves!

We had a blast in Atlanta Saturday!
This will definitely be a picture heavy post.
I took 166 pictures Saturday.
I promise to only show you the highlights!
We got to eat at my favorite place in the entire world;)
CHIPOTLE!!
It was delish.
It is a shame that I have to drive 3.5 hours to eat there.
But we are coming back for my birthday in a couple of weeks.

Then we went to Lenox Mall to waste time.
We could not find a parking spot so we valet parked.
I know we are classy!

Then we headed to the Turner Field!
It was a night game so it was not terribly hot but it was HUMID.
So we were pretty much drenched in sweat in about 10 seconds flat.

I had to take a pic of Mickey for JG!

We decided to go the the Braves Museum & Hall of Fame.
There were some really cool exhibits and great pictures.
It was really hard taking pictures through the plexiglass though.

Bobby Cox is retiring after this season.
He will be greatly missed.
I would love to really have a Coke that size;)

The Braves lost:(
and Chipper did not play:(
but overall we had a great time!
And I did get to see Chipper in the 9th inning for one pitch!
That was worth the humidity and the losing!
M had a blast and since we were there for her bday that is all that mattered!

a few pics during the game
CHIPPER!!

Every time I have gone to a game {since I have been an adult} I purchase a baseball bat.
I got the green one this time!

On a different note, this is my last week of summer classes!!!
I just have 1 quiz, 1 paper, and the final left...finally:)

last weekend recap...just a LITTLE late;)

I know this is terribly late but the only interesting stuff I have done was last weekend.
I am sure none of you want to hear about the mounds of reading, homework, and papers I have done so far this week!

M's birthday was Sunday but we celebrated on Saturday!
She wanted to go to Savannah and eat at Bonefish Grill.
None of us had ever been there before but it was really good.

Of course, we spent too much money shopping.
{Target is the DEVIL}
The BFF, A, bought a painting for her new office!
It looks really good!
{unlike this pic...sorry I took it with my phone}
The frame would not fit in the car so we have to go back and get that.

When we got back from Savannah.
M opened her presents and blew out her candles!

I actually got her tickets to the Braves game this Saturday,
but I wanted her to have a present to open.

So I got her a frame to put a picture of us from the game in, a couple of scrapbook things to remember her birthday weekends, and a gift card to Books-a-Million.

A got her a Twilight globe puzzle, Twilight magnets, and the new season of Eureka!

Mel turned the big 24;)
And we do not believe in number candles in our house!
We always put the exact number of candles.
Yes, we know eventually that will be a major fire hazzard!

I will definitely have a ton of pictures from the Braves game this weekend.
Hopefully, everyone has had a great week!

random recap

The past week has been pretty busy:
  • I made a cool $136 million in profit as CEO in our group negotiation exercise
  • {if only I actually received the salary for that:) }
  • I have a knack for negotiating...apparently
  • I purchased the entire series of Stargate SG-1
  • I have watched entirely too much Stargate this weekend
  • {when I should have been doing school work...oh well, I was celebrating independence}
  • July 4th is definitely still my fav holiday
  • fireworks still make me feel like a kid
  • lazy rainy days are the best kind!
  • rediscovered why Ansel Adams is my favorite photographer
  • check out the Ansel Adams Gallery or use google images...AMAZING!
  • having 3 days off from both jobs really throws off my sleep pattern
  • getting up for work this morning was TORTURE;)
  • I am now kicking myself for not doing that much school work over the weekend

I hope everyone had a fun-filled holiday weekend!

Independence

My favorite holiday of the year is 4th of July!

I see Independence Day as a symbol that freedom can be attained by anyone who wants it badly enough. {and is willing to fight for it} This day is a reminder that freedom is not easy and is not free. Brave men and women have made the ultimate sacrifice to ensure our freedom. It is a symbol of hope that one day everyone will enjoy the same or even greater liberties than what we have today. As long as people embrace the ideals of freedom and liberty and are willing to fight for them and not be swayed by the "easy way out," everyone can be free.

Oh yeah and....I really LOVE fireworks!!!

Happy Independence Day!
