lincoln park after dark

I am getting a desperately needed manicure this weekend.
So I thought I would share my love for OPI nail polish!
I just love all of their colors, but my favorite
thing is the names of their polishes.
I like browsing their website & just reading the names.
Lately, I have been getting the OPI gel manicure
and I am loving it!
My manicure last for at least two weeks, usually longer,
& I am not easy on my nails.
My favorite colors are Russian Navy & Lincoln Park After Dark.
But I like getting a different color every time.
And I am not afraid of getting something "funky"
as my nieces call it.
Here are a few of my favs right now:

Do you have a favorite OPI color?

c25k update

Source: google.com.au via liz on Pinterest

This week I started
week 6 of C25K.
I am continually amazing myself
with this program.
As y'all might remember
from my last update post
I was struggling a LITTLE bit
with running 90 seconds straight.
Well, last Friday I ran (jogged)
20 minutes
IN. A. ROW!
I think this is some kind of
invasion of the body snatchers thing.
I have found that running
really is a mental thing for me.
I know it may sound
a tiny bit crazy
but I actually play mind games
with myself to just
keep my feet moving ;)
My end goal is to complete a 5k
so I am trying not to
focus on weight loss;
because I do not want to get discouraged.
So I have not weighed myself
since I started the program.
But I am measuring myself once a month.
And in the 1st month
I lost
11 inches overall!
I was super excited about that.
I will say that I still
loathe exercise
and I still struggle every
single time I run
but I am doing it and
I am not giving up
even though I want to really
bad sometimes.

the end

google

This is my 1st link up
Oh, How Pinteresting Wednesdays
and I decided to dedicate it
to the final Harry Potter movie.

Mel & I have
already purchased our
tickets for the midnight showing.
We are even watching Part 1 in theaters
again Thursday night.
It is going to be a full night
of Harry Potter awesomeness!

I have seen all of the HP movies in theaters
and while I still think
they do not hold a candle to the books
{what movie really does?!}
it has become a tradition.

Who else is seeing the final movie
opening night?

weekend in pictures

Today is one of my Best Friends' birthday.
Happy Birthday Mel!

Mel is probably one of the best people I know.
Saturday we went bowling
to celebrate.

And then we had cake!
Mel requested an old-fashioned
15-layer chocolate cake.
We love her for it!
That was an AMAZING cake.
It tasted just like my Granny's used too.

Then she opened presents.
She got a couple of gift certificates
one for an hour massage,
& one for a pedicure.
She also got Braves tickets for a
game in September!

It was a fun weekend celebrating
Mel's birth!

drama drama drama

Warning: Venting Ahead!

You know those people who
thrive on drama?!
I really do not understand them.
If I can help it at all
I live in a drama-free zone.
I try to give people leeway, especially
on Facebook.
We all have those moments when we just
need a "woe is me" moment.
But if you start clogging up my feed
with those moments
all the frigging time
I am going to either unfriend you or block you.
I never say anything to that person
because hey it's her page
and if that is what she wants to use
her page for I do not have a
problem with that
I just do not want to read it.
What I do not understand is how
some people
surround themselves with drama
and then
complain about it.
I think my head would explode
if I had to deal
with that stuff all of the time.
I'll give you an example of someone I just blocked today.
She apparently had a tooth pulled yesterday.
And this was her status today:
"Hurting today :( thanks to those who checked on me the rest of ya who i thgt wld well whatever."
That is just asking to start crap.
I do find it
the tiniest bit amusing.
Because tomorrow her status will
probably be about how much
she hates drama.
This post may be considered drama.
So I apologize.
I just had to rant
a little bit ;)

i ♥ surprises!

Okay, y'all,
when did Tupperware get so cute?!

I received these goodies in the mail this week!
I seriously did not even remember winning these.
So I was super surprised when I was contacted
by Jessica for my info.
I won this great package during
JG's awesome blogaversary giveaways.

I was flipping through the Tupperware catalog
and there are several items in there that I would
love to have.
I remember Tupperware being serviceable & reliable.
But they have some super cute stuff now!

Thanks so much JG & Jessica!
Y'all are pretty awesome. :)

happy independence day

"Let the Fourth of July always be a reminder that here in this land,
for the first time,
it was decided that man is born with certain
God-given rights;
that government is only a convenience created and managed by the people,
with no powers of its own except those voluntarily granted to it by the people.
We sometimes forget that great truth, and we never should.
Happy Fourth of July."
~Ronald Reagan~
