weekend shenanigans

The past two weekends have been fairly busy.
Fun, but busy!

The fair was in town a couple of weeks ago.
D and I went on Friday night.
Of course, we had a funnel cake
and we rode the ferris wheel.
The fair also had a really cool area that
had a blacksmith, an old-time general store,
and some antique farm equipment.

Like I have said before,
the fair means the arrival of fall.
Living in South Georgia
the weather can be a bit unpredictable,
so, it cannot be counted on to
determine the seasons. ;)

The next night
D and I, along with his family,
went to a nearby haunted attraction...
Haunted Montrose.
It was a ton of fun!

The gang trying to take a selfie!
Last Friday,
my office had it's annual fall festival.
We had games and candy galore.
It was so much fun!
My favorite game was the glow stick bowling.
It looked super cool.
A small sampling of the candy.

Last Saturday,
D and I went to Savannah.
Savannah finally has a Chipotle!!!!!
I cannot express how excited I am about this fact.
I no longer have to drive 3+ hours to get my Chipotle fix.
Granted, D may not be as happy about this development.
I highly doubt he wants to eat at the same restaurant every time we go to Savannah.

Chipotle is right beside a Bruster's (not yet open) ...
ice cream is probably my second favorite food,
right behind Chipotle.
This is food heaven for me.
There is also a Whole Foods in the same shopping center.
So, we browsed around the store some.
They had Biscoff ice cream
and it was divine!
D totally racked up the brownie points Saturday night!

Biscoff ice cream ... Amazing!
After dinner and dessert,
we drove down to River Street and
walked around.
Then we stopped in a restaurant to watch
the second half of the FSU/Miami game.
In which, the Noles dominated!
It was pretty much a perfect night!

quick update

I know things have been pretty silent in my
little corner of the web.
Life has just been crazy lately and I have neglected the blog.

There have been a few big changes happen this year.
The biggest being... I have been dating a guy for 5 months now.
This relationship has been a complete surprise for me.
I was always the girl completely content to be single.
I honestly never thought I would be any good in a relationship.
And it is starting to get to the point where I could not imagine my life without this guy.
{Good Grief! I sound like a school girl.}
It is just crazy for me to wrap my mind around still.
We are both taking things slowly and, lucky for me, he seems to understand that I need to be cautious and over think every step of this relationship.
It is definitely okay to feel sorry for him. ;)

On the weight loss front, I have FINALLY reached my goal weight.
I am actually 5 pounds below my goal weight.
Which means that since I have started my "get healthy" journey,
I have lost a total of 80 pounds!
WooHoo!
I have not calculated the total inches lost,
but just this year, so far, I have lost a total of 35 inches overall.
It is definitely going to be different just trying to maintain where I am currently.

I am still not "skinny," but I am healthy.
And that was, and continues to be, my main goal.
Besides I like cake too much to be too skinny!

So, for any of you who still visit this corner of the web,
what has been going on in your life recently?
I would love to catch up with y'all!

running update

It has been a while since I updated y'all on how running is going.
Well, it has been a while since I update y'all on anything!
But let's stick to running for now.

Saturday I completed my third 5k since I started running last year.
And I finished in my best time yet!
I finished 10 minutes faster than my last race!
I cannot adequately express how good it felt to cross that finish line seeing that time on the clock.
The elements could have contributed to the faster time Saturday.
It was FLOODING and cold!
All of my extremities were numb by the end of the race.

I am still not the greatest "runner" in the world.
I would definitely fit better into the jogger category.
And I still cannot run the entire 3.2 miles straight.
But my walking "breaks" are getting shorter and shorter!
Progress!

I do not do these races to compete with other people.
I just want to finish better than I did the last race.
I may have set the bar a little too high with this one though!

My next 5k is coming up in 2 short weeks on March 9th
and my sister wants to do another one on March 30th.
I have not completely committed to the March 30th one though.
That would be three 5ks in a little over a months time.
However, she will probably convince me to do it.
I am a sucker for the,
"but I do not want to race by myself" argument.
The things we do for family!
