I received a Kindle for Christmas!
I was on the fence about getting an e-reader.
I am very much a girl who loves the feel/smell of a real book.
After using my Kindle for about 3 months, I am in love!
It is just super convenient to have several books
right in my purse.
I even have a lot of the books required for class downloaded.
I still read hard copy books when I am at home.
I am actually spending more money on books now
because I tend to buy books twice.
Once on the kindle and an actual hard copy.
I know it does not make sense but
I do not think I will ever give up my actual books.
Just a sidenote: Amazon really is a great company!
I am not getting paid or compensated in any way.
I wish I was ;)
I would work for them in a heart beat!
The following is one of many reasons why.
Saturday morning I turned my Kindle on at work
and the screen froze.
I had a moment of seriously TECHNOLOGY HATES ME!
I, then, googled the problem, of course.
And I tried to "reset" my Kindle based on some reviews I read.
That did not work.
Then I emailed Amazon and told them the problem I was having.
About 30 minutes later I got an email back requesting that I call the Kindle support line.
At this point, I really did not want to have to
call a customer service line.
A machine ALWAYS answers the phone
and you have to wait on hold for an hour {or more}
listening to crappy elevator music
and occasionally getting a recording that says
"Your call is important to us please stay on the line for the next available representative."
blah . . . blah . . . blah
However, this is one of the reasons I now love Amazon
more than I did before,
I spoke with an actual person {Chris} about
30 seconds after I placed the call!
Chris was very helpful and just plain nice!
He apologized for the problems I was having.
And I received a new Kindle MONDAY!
That is right, Monday.
What other company can you call on a Saturday
and receive a replacement by Monday.
With no hassle whatsoever!
That is what I call excellent customer service.
I have always been a fan of Amazon,
but now they definitely have a customer for life!
I love amazon too :D My father-in-law has an e-reader but I don't know that I'd ever want one. I spend all day staring at a screen at work - it's the last thing I want to do when I get home! I love my books too much ...
ReplyDeleteThat is great that they would do it! Its so ahrd to find companys that would go through with that.

Hmmmm....I'm still going to hold out. :) I have the Kindle app on my cell phone and I can download books there if I want (which is handy if I'm already in bed and want something new to read) but more often than not, I just grab an old book. :)
