words of wisdom wednesday

In honor of Dr. Seuss' birthday yesterday,
I am going to cheat a little bit and have two quotes this week.
They are from the same book so really it is one quote with some of the words missing☼
--------------------------
You have brains in your head.
You have feet in your shoes.
You can steer yourself
any direction you choose.
You're on your own.
And you know what you know.
And YOU are the one who'll decide where to go.

On and on you will hike, And I know you’ll hike far
and face up to your problems whatever they are.
You’ll get mixed up of course, as you already know.
You’ll get mixed up with many strange birds as you go.

So be sure when you step.
Step with care and great tact
And remember that Life’s a great balancing act.
Just never forget to be dexterous and deft.
And never mix up your right foot with your left.

Oh, The Places You'll Go!
Dr. Seuss
----------------------
I could probably quote the entire book.
I absolutely LOVE Dr. Seuss!
He is still my favorite author.

  1. "Just never forget to be dexterous and deft." That's my favorite line! Very good advice. My dad's version: Always be flexible. :)

  2. I love that book too. My parents gave it to me for my high school graduation and I read it often!
